It Takes Who
Just in time for series three of Doctor Who airing in the UK, a Madison, Wisconsin based parody rap artist Luke Ski has done a new song in tribute to the modern incarnation of the series called It Takes Who. It is available for free on theFump.com.
One of the nice things over the last year or so is that the new Doctor Who series is generating a lot more interest amongst the general community of American science fiction fans than Doctor Who has had in many years. We're seeing that both in Doctor Who recognition amongst the Hugo community and in songs like this.

Google Reader - Doctor Who Reader
I use Google Reader as my feed reader for all of the various blogs and news sources on the net, and one of thing things that I've shared is my collection of Doctor Who items from around the net. It's on my main page for this blog, but it's another way to see a collection of the latest Doctor Who items as I see them as well.

More from the past
I've only had this site for a year and a half or so, and since then I've used this as my main forum for Doctor Who writing. However, I've had my general blog for over five years now. I've started to go back through and tagged old entries in that blog, and so you can follow all of my old Doctor Who thoughts from there as well. Many of those items are a bit dated, but that's really just to be expected. And it's not the most dated thing on the site either.

Outpost Returns
I mentioned a few weeks ago about how I was sad to see Outpost Gallifrey's News page close, so I'm really happy to see that they'll be restarting early in December. I think it's valuable as the definitive unofficial Doctor Who newssite -- and it's been that for so long, it's good to see it work out a way to continue in the future.
I've been listening to the Doctor Who concert on the BBC Radio Waves "listen again" page -- and it's quite enjoyable, even with the occasional fade-ins of a streaming audio-broadcast. It makes me look forward all the more to the official soundtrack CD when it comes out.

Site discovery
I was browsing around, adding more refinements to The Doctor Who Search Engine, and I came across the Mind Robber site, which I don't think I had seen before, and certainly not as it currently looks. I've only scratched the surface, but it looks like an interesting Doctor Who site, with lots of interesting Dalek 3D models, but also a bit more as well.

Television Without Pity
As the most recent season of Doctor Who is finally getting some US airtime, now is a great time to re-plug Television Without Pity. You might think that there's absolutely no reason to page through a dozen pages recapping an episode that you can watch on TV, but Jacob's commentary is very insightful and absolutely worth reading.

The End of Gallifrey
It's very sad to hear about Outpost Gallifrey ending their news coverage. For a very long time, it has been the key site for Doctor Who fans.
It's an end of era. It was also a great site for international Doctor Who, where many other sites focus on one particular country.
While the forums -- and the Gallifrey One convention -- will continue, the news site will be missed. Thanks and congratulations to Shaun and everyone else who has done great work over the years.
