Doctor Who on iTunes [US]

Doctor Who has shown up on iTunes -- the first three series are all available. And at $1.99 an episode, it is perhaps your cheapest way to get new Doctor Who if you haven't gotten it on DVD yet.

Torchwood has been on iTunes for a while now, but it's good to see Doctor Who show up there..

Series Two DVDs

I got my copy of the Region 1 DVD set of Series Two today. I've only had a chance to look at the first two discs so far, and listen to the commentaries on School Reunion and Girl In The Fireplace. It is by far the best Doctor Who DVD packaging to date -- the booklet really is beautiful, with specially constructed images.

It was also nice to see the included flier advertising the US distribution of all of the various toys. I'd ordered the Cyberman helmet and remote control Dalek toy, which are two all-time favorites of mine and two of the best-ever pieces of Doctor Who merchandise, and so it's nice to see that it might be a bit easier to get the merchandise. Though thankfully with the internet it's really not been too bad, at least as long as the supply doesn't dry out.

Advertising

It's still a little strange to see advertising for the DVD boxed set for Series Two at Best Buy along with the other non-Who DVD sets released this month. I know that in the UK it may not be very unusual to come across Doctor Who in the general public, but it is still unusual here in the US.

Doctor Who - Series Two Review

I'll get into any sort of spoilers in the first comment of this post.

When Doctor Who returned in 2005, that a television series that was pretty much the same old Doctor Who in spirit as well as in title was enough to celebrate.

The second season was patterned very similar to the first, really.

In the first comment I'll go from worst to best:
